Mom Killed By Her Boyfriend
Domestic disputes happen on a regular basis in Alphabet City,
How many end up being deaths? I donât know but my mother was one of them.
My lasting image of my mother was her being brought out in a body bag on the news,
As she was carted into the white coronerâs truck to be taken to the morgue.
I knew I wasnât going to her funeral, she abandoned me,
She disowned me so if anyone calls me, Iâm not answering.
There was no way I was going to her funeral,
Plus I look horrible and totally messed up from all of the drugs Iâve been on the past few years.
The news reporter I knew from when I was a child,
I admired her and wanted to be her at a point in time as a young teen.
Dreams and aspirations to be in front of the camera,
Most kids donât get to accomplish their goals and dreams in Alphabet City.
The story the news reporter told sounded accurate,
Heated argument, neighbors heard words being exchanged.
They tried to intervene but couldnât get into the apartment,
By the time the police got there, he had shot and killed her.
He left the apartment, went down the back staircase into the night,
To disappear and go into hiding as they put out a reward for his capture.
People do anything for money so everyone was on the swivel,
Trying to get a glimpse of him so they can get money for his arrest.
A $10,000 reward was put out, being a criminal brings more money,
Iâve always wondered if you get all of the money or is it taxed like everything else is in this country.
That doesnât matter either way because Iâm surely not getting it,
The manhunt for him was apparent but gang members killing each other, that was a different story.
Someone in the hood thatâs gang affiliated killing another gang member,
It was crickets with people helping law enforcement but thatâs a trust issue in the community.
I guess it takes someone definitely knowing who the killer is,
Along with a criminal, thatâs a clear way to looking for a man whoâs a murderer.
Over the years that I was living with my mom,
She would tolerate so many things from this man.
His charm and charisma was something that drew my mother to him,
There was also another side to him and when it came out, watch out.
There were fights between my mother and him a lot,
Iâd pay it no mind knowing that my mom wasnât leaving the man.
He was involved in gang activity and selling guns,
He made a lot of money so he was contributing to her bills.
Whenever there was financial struggles, he provided,
So he thought he could do whatever he wanted.
Chances are he was cheating on my mother with other women,
When youâre involved in illegal activities in Alphabet City and make money, women are drawn to those men.
Iâm guilty of being that woman for quite some time,
But I knew I had to hold my own and never wanted to depend on a man for money.
Iâm quite sure my mother caught
